Helium 10 – the complete guide: Pricing, features and alternatives in 2026

The name Helium10 comes up in every Facebook group for sellers, every Amazon training course and half the guides online. Yet hardly anyone explains plainly what the tool actually does, how much it costs after the 2026 price rise and whether your business will get any use out of it at all. We break it all down.

Helium 10 brings product and keyword research, financial analytics and advertising together in a single dashboard.

What is Helium 10 and what is it used for?

Helium 10 is a suite of more than 30 analytics tools for Amazon sellers, brought together in a single dashboard. It serves three purposes: finding profitable products, choosing keywords, and keeping your own margin and advertising campaigns under control.

The simplest way to picture it is as the dashboard of a racing car. You can drive without one, but then you don’t know how much fuel you have left, how high the revs are or whether the engine is about to give out. Helium 10 shows sellers these readings for their own products: how big the demand in a niche is, which search terms a competitor ranks for and whether a product actually makes money at a given price or just generates turnover.

The company was founded in California in 2015 by Manny Coats and Guillermo Puyol. Today more than 4 million seller accounts use the tool, and its database covers over 450 million Amazon products. The scale is impressive, but it doesn’t mean every seller needs all 30 tools from day one, or that the tools can replace professional Amazon sales management.

What features does Helium 10 offer?

Helium 10 groups its tools into four areas: product research, keyword research, financial analytics and ad automation. Below are the three modules that most sellers’ day-to-day work revolves around.

How does Black Box, Helium 10’s product research tool, work?

Black Box is a product search engine driven by filters: category, price range, number of reviews, estimated monthly sales and level of competition. You set the criteria, and within seconds the tool returns a list of products that meet all of them at once.

In practice, Black Box answers the question of ‘what to sell’ before you’ve ordered so much as a sample from a supplier. Someone looking for a niche with a low barrier to entry would typically filter for products priced at $20–50, with fewer than 200 reviews and estimated sales of over 300 units a month. A filter like this picks up demand where the competition hasn’t yet had time to dig in.

One thing calls for an honest caveat: the sales figures are estimates calculated from BSR rankings, not pulled directly from Amazon. The industry puts their accuracy at 71–80 per cent, and the error grows in narrow niches with few sellers. Treat the result as an indication, not a certainty.

How do Cerebro and Magnet help you choose keywords for Amazon?

Cerebro and Magnet are two keyword tools that work in opposite directions. Cerebro performs what’s known as a reverse ASIN search: you paste in a competitor’s product number and see every search term that competitor ranks for, along with the search volume and the product’s position in the results. Magnet works the other way round, generating a list of search terms from a topic you give it.

It’s the same logic you’ll know from Google SEO, just applied to Amazon. Instead of guessing keywords, you get a look at what’s actually earning your rival money and build your title and bullet points around those search terms. Cerebro is regarded in the industry as the best tool in its class.

For a business entering the German or French market, this is often the only way to avoid translating keywords word for word from Polish and instead base the listing on what customers actually type in that language. Usage limits depend on the plan, so with a larger product portfolio it’s worth working out whether Platinum will be enough.

How does Helium 10 calculate margin and sales profitability?

The Profits module calculates a product’s real margin after deducting Amazon’s commission, FBA logistics costs, advertising spend and returns. You see the result broken down by individual product, by day and by specific market.

This tool answers a question that beginner sellers routinely skip: at this price and with these costs, does the product make any money at all, or does it just generate nice-looking turnover? The philosophy we repeat to our clients at Raise Your Sales until they’re tired of hearing it is simple: profitability matters more than revenue alone. High sales at zero margin aren’t a success, just an expensive hobby.

For businesses operating in several markets at once, this module can be the biggest eye-opener. Differences in commission and shipping costs between Germany, France and the US can turn a profitable product into a loss-maker. Without this kind of analysis, a seller often only discovers the problem once one market is quietly eating up the profit from the others.

How much does Helium 10 cost? Pricing and subscription plans

Helium 10 costs from $99 a month on the Platinum plan when paid annually ($129 when billed monthly) up to $279 a month on the Diamond plan when paid annually ($359 monthly). The previously popular Starter plan, at around $39, was withdrawn for new users in April 2026, so the real entry threshold has risen noticeably.

Does Helium 10 have a free version or trial?

Yes, Helium 10 offers a no-cost plan called Free that lets you test the interface and some of the tools without entering your card details. In the free version you can use the basics of the Chrome extension, including Xray for quickly assessing a niche, but the advanced features of Cerebro and Magnet are heavily restricted or locked.

The Free plan works well if you’re only just considering selling on Amazon and want a close-up look at what product research involves. It isn’t enough to run a real shop, because without full access to the keyword tools you can’t build a sensible visibility strategy.

Before you move to a paid plan, set yourself one specific question you want the free version to answer: for example, whether there’s enough demand in your category in the first place. Clicking around the dashboard aimlessly usually ends with the conclusion ‘nice, but I don’t know what to do with it’. That’s the most common reason sellers give up on the tool after just a week, even though the problem lies not in the tool but in the lack of a plan for using it.

Helium 10 or Jungle Scout – which should you choose?

Helium 10 wins on the number of tools, the depth of its keyword data and its broader platform coverage, while Jungle Scout wins on its simpler interface and gentler start for beginners. For a new seller, the two are roughly on a par, and the difference comes down to whether you prefer a complete ecosystem or a tool that’s ready to go straight away.

If in-depth research and keeping an eye on your competitors’ strategies matter to you, Helium 10 usually gives you more. If your priority is a quick start without weeks of learning, sellers more often praise Jungle Scout. Both have inexpensive entry-level options, so testing them before you decide takes a weekend at most.

How do you get started with Helium 10, step by step?

Setting up Helium 10, from signing up to your first meaningful research, usually takes one working day if you already have an Amazon seller account. The order matters, because each step feeds data into the next.

  1. Create an account on the Helium 10 website and choose a plan, ideally starting with Free so you can get used to the dashboard.
  2. Connect the account to Amazon Seller Central via API authorisation, because most modules won’t work without it.
  3. Install the Helium 10 extension for the Chrome browser, which shows data directly on Amazon product pages.
  4. Launch Black Box and set the filters for your category to assess the niche’s sales potential.
  5. Choose 2–3 competitor products and paste their ASINs into Cerebro to see which search terms they rank for.
  6. Build a keyword list in Magnet and sort it by search volume.
  7. Enter your product costs in the Profits module and check the real margin before you place an order with your supplier.

Does Helium 10 also work with Allegro, eMAG and other platforms?

No, Helium 10 only supports Amazon, Walmart and TikTok Shop. It doesn’t integrate with Allegro, eMAG, Kaufland, eBay or the other European marketplaces where most Polish sellers operate.

For a business that sells only on Amazon, that’s not a problem. For a multichannel seller, which describes most sellers in Poland, it means Helium 10 lights up just one room in the whole house. The rest has to be monitored separately, using each platform’s native tools, such as Allegro Ads statistics or eMAG’s analytics dashboards.

The good news is that the mechanics themselves don’t change. Choosing keywords by search volume, calculating margin after logistics and advertising costs, and analysing competitors’ listings work the same way on Allegro or eMAG; you just do it in other tools or manually in a spreadsheet. The side effect can be painful, though: data from different platforms ends up in separate systems and is hard to bring together for a fair comparison of which channel really earns the most.

Summary

Helium 10 won’t sell a single item for you. It only shows you where it’s worth looking for sales, and that’s a completely different service. Its value ends the moment raw data has to be turned into a decision: which product to choose, how much to spend on advertising, when to move into the next market. The tool does its Amazon homework brilliantly, but it leaves you on your own with the other platforms and with the question of what to do next with the numbers on your screen. It’s a tool for someone who wants to drive and knows how to, not for someone looking for a driver.

If you already have the data and are looking for someone to turn it into profitable growth on Amazon, Allegro or eMAG, book a free consultation with Raise Your Sales. We’ll analyse your account and tell you straight where the real potential lies and where you’d be wasting your time and budget.
