Allegro Ads Express: what it is and how it works, step by step

Allegro Ads Express is a tool in which an algorithm makes most of the decisions for you – you set a daily budget and keep an eye on the results. It sounds convenient, but it raises a question: does this kind of automation actually pay off, or does it simply hand control of your money over to a machine? In this article, we show how Allegro Ads Express works step by step, what it really costs and – most importantly – when it's worth using and when you're better off with a manual campaign.

In Allegro Ads Express, the algorithm sets the cost-per-click bid, and all you decide is the daily budget.

What is Allegro Ads Express?

Allegro Ads Express is a simplified version of Allegro Ads in which an AI-based algorithm manages your cost-per-click bid on its own. All you do is set a daily budget and switch the campaign on; the system takes care of the rest. It's the quickest way to get sponsored listings up and running without getting into advanced settings.

In standard Allegro Ads, you decide on the CPC bid, placements and product groups yourself. In Ads Express, those decisions are taken over by a mechanism that continuously assesses the likelihood of a sale for every ad impression. If the likelihood is high, the bid goes up and the listing appears more often. If it drops, the system lowers the bid automatically, so as not to burn through your budget on clicks that won't lead to a purchase anyway.

It's a solution for anyone who wants to start advertising on Allegro the same day without reading the panel's user manual first. The downside is that you have less control over exactly where your money goes than with manual Allegro Ads campaign management, but more on that in the reviews section.

How does Allegro Ads Express work?

Allegro Ads Express is based on automatic dynamic CPC: the algorithm assesses the likelihood of a purchase in real time and, on that basis, raises or lowers your cost-per-click bid by itself. You don't set a specific amount per click, just a daily budget, and the system allocates it so as to squeeze as many orders out of it as possible.

In practice, the mechanism follows a pattern along these lines:

  1. You switch the campaign on and set a daily budget for the selected listings.
  2. The system analyses your account's historical data: category, sales to date, seasonality.
  3. With every impression, the algorithm estimates the chance of a particular listing selling to a particular person.
  4. When the chance is high, the bid and the listing's visibility go up automatically.
  5. When the chance drops, the system lowers the bid to limit the cost of clicks that don't convert.

Allegro itself recommends giving the algorithm at least two weeks to learn before you judge the results. It's a bit like onboarding a new employee: the first few days are chaotic, and only after a while can you tell whether they're a good fit.

How much does Allegro Ads Express cost?

Allegro Ads Express has no separate, fixed price list: you pay only out of the daily budget you set, and you decide how much that is when you launch the campaign. Unlike Allegro's sales packages, there's no subscription fee for the tool itself.

In practice, the cost depends on how many clicks you want to buy and which category you're competing in. What you actually end up paying is also shaped by how much competition there is in your category. In electronics or fashion, the cost per click can be several times higher than in niche categories with fewer sellers, because far more sellers are bidding for the same impressions at once. That's why a budget that fills one client's order book barely covers a handful of clicks for another. Before you commit to a fixed amount, check what a click costs in your particular category first, rather than going by average price ranges you've found online.

Allegro Ads Express vs Allegro Ads – the differences

Allegro Ads Express differs from standard Allegro Ads mainly in the level of control it gives you: in the Express version, you hand bid management over to the algorithm, whereas in standard Allegro Ads you decide everything yourself. It isn't a different tool built from scratch, but a simplified variant of the same advertising system.

The key differences:

  • Cost-per-click bid: in Express, it's set automatically by AI; in Allegro Ads, you set it manually for each group of listings.
  • Placements: in Express, you don't choose them separately; in Allegro Ads, you can decide where your ad appears.
  • Statistics: Express gives you limited insight into the data, while the standard Allegro Ads panel shows detailed reports by listing and placement.
  • Set-up time: you can launch Express in a few minutes, while a full campaign in Allegro Ads needs more detailed configuration.

How do you launch an Allegro Ads Express campaign step by step?

You can launch an Allegro Ads Express campaign from your seller panel in a few minutes, without having to configure separate product groups or CPC bids. The whole process comes down to choosing your listings, setting a budget and switching the campaign on.

Here's how it works, step by step:

  1. Log in to your Allegro seller panel and go to the Allegro Ads section.
  2. Choose the Ads Express option from the available campaign formats.
  3. Select the listings you want to promote, ideally ones with a good sales history.
  4. Set the daily budget you can afford to spend on the campaign.
  5. Switch the campaign on and wait at least two weeks before judging the results.
  6. After that, check the statistics and decide whether to increase your budget or move to standard Allegro Ads.

That's it. No target audiences, no manual bidding. The real challenge only comes afterwards, when you have to work out whether that money has actually paid for itself.

Allegro Ads Express – reviews: is it really worth switching on?

Allegro Ads Express works well as a first taste of advertising on Allegro, but reviews from sellers and agencies keep coming back to the same complaint: a lack of control over exactly where the budget goes. That's an honest assessment, not a marketing one.

Allegro itself reports that the new AI-based version of the bid-setting mechanism in Ads Express delivered as much as 40% higher return on ad spend than the previous mechanism in an internal A/B test carried out between 6 October and 3 November 2025. That's a concrete, recent figure, so if you used Express before this change, it's worth taking another look.

Pros: a quick start, no need to know anything about CPC, a good option for testing a category. Cons: limited statistics, no say over placements, weaker control with bigger budgets.

When is a manual Allegro Ads campaign a better choice than Ads Express?

A manual campaign in Allegro Ads is the better choice when you already have a sales history and a set monthly budget of more than a few hundred zloty, and you want to know how much each order from a specific listing really costs you. Express automation is convenient, but at a larger scale it starts to lack precision.

If you sell in several categories at once or have listings with very different margins, manual bid management lets you bid differently on a product you earn more on than on one you sell at close to cost. Express treats all listings in much the same way, because it optimises purely for the likelihood of a sale, not for your margin.

Who is Allegro Ads Express for?

Allegro Ads Express is mainly for sellers who are just starting to advertise on Allegro and want to test a few listings without having to learn the whole Allegro Ads panel. It also works for smaller daily budgets, where manual optimisation wouldn't have enough data to achieve anything meaningful anyway.

Who isn't Express a good idea for in the long run? Sellers with an established position, a large monthly budget and listings with varying margins. For them, automation starts to cost more than the time it saves, because it doesn't distinguish between what you earn more on and what you earn less on.

At Raise Your Sales, we don't use Allegro Ads Express ourselves when managing our clients' accounts. We prefer manual optimisation, because it gives us full control over the bid and placement for each individual listing, and in our experience that translates into better profitability than running on autopilot. To be fair, though, we're keeping a close eye on how this tool develops. The AI mechanism behind Ads Express gets better with every update, so we don't rule out that at some point there will be areas where automation matches or even outperforms the manual work of a specialist.

Summary

At its core, Allegro Ads Express means handing some of your decisions over to a machine in return for the time you'd normally spend learning how to bid. For a new account, that's a fair trade: you get going faster and see sooner whether there's any demand for your product at all. The problem only arises when the account grows and the algorithm still treats every listing the same way, regardless of whether you earn twice as much on it as on the one next to it. That's when convenience starts to cost more than the time it saves – and that's the moment to swap automation for someone who looks at your account, not at an average sales pattern.

If your account has already outgrown automated bidding and you're wondering whether Allegro Ads Express still makes sense or it's time to switch to a manual campaign, book a free consultation with us. We'll review your Allegro Ads account and tell you straight where Express is still holding its own and where it's costing you money.
