Over 80% sales growth on Amazon in 6 months

The Client
RoadEU is a wholesale and retail distributor of electrical supplies.
Their permanent wholesale catalogue features a comprehensive range of electrotechnical goods, including cables, wiring, cable management systems, switchgear, electrical distribution boards, installation equipment, lighting, light sources, and additional accessories.

The Challenge
Before partnering with us, the owners of RoadEU were grappling with several key hurdles:
- A lack of time to implement necessary changes on their seller account.
- Insufficient in-house expertise regarding the Amazon ecosystem.
- Inefficient use of their Amazon Ads budget.
- Difficulty tailoring the right sales strategy for the Amazon marketplace.
- Challenges in expanding into new international markets.
The Solution
The Audit
We kicked off our partnership with an in-depth audit of their seller account, identifying the core areas for improvement and the primary challenges the business was facing:
- Low sales despite a competitive offering: RoadEU struggled with poor sales figures on Amazon, even though they offered highly competitive products within their sector.
- Poor listing visibility: The company’s products lacked visibility on the platform, making it incredibly difficult to reach potential buyers.
- Inefficient Amazon Ads management: The business wasn’t fully leveraging Amazon’s advertising suite, which severely limited product promotion.
- Disorganised listings and a lack of brand building: Offers were scattered, products lacked proper variation setup, and there was no strategic focus on building brand awareness.

Visibility
The immediate priority was to drastically improve the visibility and quality of their listings. We achieved this by:
- Auditing and optimising existing ad campaigns.
- Revamping titles and integrating high-performing search terms.
- Creating bespoke, brand-focused A+ Content (A+C).
- Launching and leveraging an Amazon Storefront.
Implementing the changes
With clear objectives and a solid strategy in place, we moved on to the execution phase. Drawing on historical sales data, category insights, and competitor analysis, we took the following steps:
Optimised and expanded product titles with essential keywords.
Enhanced the standard product descriptions.
Added highly relevant search terms to the backend Generic Keywords.
Expanded and fully optimised the bullet points.
Corrected listings that featured inaccurate brand attributes.
Conducted a full audit and optimisation of the advertising campaigns.
Produced a complete suite of graphics and implemented A+ Content.
Launched a dedicated brand Storefront.
We optimised the main campaign in early April 2023, and within just a few days of adjusting our bids, it began delivering excellent results. A slight dip in July was caused by a brief stocktake, but we quickly regained stability and momentum.

The importance of cost control
Keeping advertising costs to a minimum is a crucial aspect of our strategy. To monitor this, we rely on campaign performance metrics, most importantly the Advertising Cost of Sales (ACOS). A low ACOS means that only a small fraction of your sales revenue is being spent on advertising. Naturally, when sales begin to scale, this metric often experiences an initial bump.

We inherited an ACOS of 20%. Thanks to meticulous campaign optimisation, we not only significantly boosted sales but also managed to drive the ACOS down to 13–14%, where it currently sits. This is an outstanding result, especially given the fierce competition and the bid levels required in this category.
Listing optimisation
Working directly on the listings was another vital strategic element. We overhauled the listings in strict alignment with our strategy. Properly aligning keywords in the titles strengthened our Amazon Ads campaigns and drove up conversion rates – not just for promoted listings, but for organic sales as well.
Additionally, embedding a comparison chart at the bottom of the listing (via A+ Content) helps keep buyers within the seller’s ecosystem, further amplifying the effectiveness of our ad spend.

A holistic approach
Over the following months of our partnership, we also:
- Expanded the account’s reach into additional EU marketplaces.
- Introduced Amazon Business Pricing and set up quantity discounts, which significantly increased the average order value (AOV).
- Absorbed shipping costs into the product price for certain items (offering free delivery), leading to a noticeable spike in buyer interest.
- Conducted thorough competitor pricing analysis across the German, Belgian, and Italian marketplaces.
- Adopted an iterative approach to every change: test the outcome -> implement the change -> analyse performance -> optimise for greater efficiency -> review the results again.
The Results
Once we launched our partnership and steadily rolled out our strategy, the anticipated sales growth followed. Every passing month brought substantial, measurable increases. We successfully boosted the initial sales value by 80% while simultaneously increasing the volume of units sold by 75%.

Campaign performance
The advertising campaigns were consistently kept within the agreed-upon budget, delivering an impressive average Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) of 8.
Moving forward: next steps
- Scaling sales in the DE (Germany) marketplace by exploring new advertising avenues, building defensive campaigns, and actively integrating new products into our ad strategy.
- Scaling sales across other EU markets (FR, IT, ES, BE) by optimising listings with a broader set of search terms across titles, bullet points, and generic keywords, alongside parallel advertising efforts.
- Expanding FBA shipments to countries like IT and FR to shorten delivery times and incentivise customer purchases.
- Conducting ongoing competitor analysis across DE, FR, IT, and BE to continually assess the sales potential of new and existing products.
