Natural products, global success: How we launched a herb and nut brand on Amazon

The Client
Igart is a manufacturer of herbs, nuts, groats, and dried fruit. They currently offer their products on Amazon across the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Belgium, alongside other marketplaces.
To meet diverse consumer demands, the client is constantly expanding their product catalogue with new varieties and weight options.

The Challenge
During our initial free consultation, Igart’s owner shared their ambition to grow on Amazon, but also voiced several reservations:
- They had been managing Allegro and eBay sales entirely in-house.
- Previous solo attempts to expand onto Amazon had proven unsuccessful.
- They were highly sceptical about Amazon’s true sales potential.
- They had never partnered with a marketplace agency before.
- While keen to explore new sales channels, they were unsure if Amazon was the right fit for their business.
The Solution
Getting started
We kicked off our partnership using the Amazon FBM (Fulfilment by Merchant) model. Our initial roadmap included:
- Listing the product catalogue on Amazon.
- Configuring product variations (parent/child listings).
- Conducting deep-dive keyword research and optimising product titles and descriptions.
- Setting up accurate shipping templates.
- Launching targeted PPC (Pay-Per-Click) campaigns across all active markets.

Month one
We closed the first month with a solid 50 orders, which steadily scaled to an average of 250 orders per month shortly after. This initial phase showed a healthy, stable growth trajectory, which is exactly what we expect to see as new products gradually gain traction and organic ranking.
Scaling up sales
We witnessed a significant surge in sales between January and July 2024. This spike was driven by meticulously structured and continually optimised marketing campaigns, coupled with growing consumer interest in Igart’s products. By rolling out manual PPC campaigns alongside our automatic ones, we considerably enhanced overall product visibility.

Stabilising sales
Over the past year, sales on Igart’s account have remained broadly stable, punctuated by distinct peaks corresponding to seasonal demand or promotional events. Minor dips on the chart were natural fluctuations reflecting standard shifts in market demand or temporary stock availability.

Marketing strategy
To sustain this growth, we doubled down on our marketing efforts during the run-up to peak shopping periods. We thoroughly optimised ad campaigns two to three weeks before expected seasonal spikes, ensuring our strategy always aligned with consumer trends. Maintaining robust inventory levels during these high-demand windows was also a critical success factor to protect the Buy Box and keep momentum high.
Transitioning to Amazon FBA
In late June 2024, we took a strategic leap by launching the FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon) model in the German market. This was a cornerstone of our expansion strategy, designed not only to boost sales in one of Europe’s largest e-commerce markets but also to elevate customer service through faster delivery times and improved product availability.

Product selection
We adopted a highly calculated approach. From the entire catalogue, we cherry-picked only the best-performing products that had already proven successful on other marketplaces. This strategy minimised the risk of aged inventory sitting in Amazon’s German fulfilment centres, protecting the client from unnecessary long-term storage fees. While we are still in the early stages of our FBA rollout, we are seeing a steady, month-on-month increase in order volume.

Benefits of launching FBA in Germany
Faster delivery times: The most immediate benefit was significantly shorter delivery windows. This instantly boosted our competitive edge in Germany, where rapid shipping is a major driver of purchasing decisions. Increased reach and visibility: By utilising FBA, our listings gained enhanced visibility on Amazon.de. FBA products are inherently favoured by Amazon’s algorithm, and securing the Prime badge added a crucial layer of trust and credibility for shoppers. Reduced logistical overhead: Shifting a portion of the logistics to Amazon relieved Igart’s in-house team from the daily grind of picking, packing, shipping, and handling customer returns for the German market. Looking ahead: Next steps Amazon Brand Registry: Enrolling the brand to protect against hijackers and counterfeits, gain complete control over product listings, and unlock advanced marketing tools (such as A+ Content and Sponsored Brands). This will also provide deeper sales analytics and streamline further international expansion. A+ Content implementation: Designing highly visual A+ Content to elevate product presentation, build brand trust, and drive higher conversion rates through rich imagery and detailed layouts. Scaling the German market (DE): Exploring new advertising avenues, building defensive ad campaigns to protect our listings from competitors, and actively integrating new product lines into our PPC strategy. Scaling beyond Germany: Expanding aggressively across FR, IT, ES, BE, SE, NL, and the UK. This involves deep-dive listing optimisation, infusing titles, bullet points, and backend generic keywords with high-converting search terms, running in parallel with our advertising efforts. Competitor analysis: Conducting ongoing competitor research across DE, FR, IT, and BE to accurately gauge the sales potential of new product rollouts.
